So what’s the catch? Combining real estate with philanthropy – REALLY?!? To many it’s an oxymoron. Realtors® tend to all be painted with the same brush strokes, and the general public tends to think they make “easy money.” Maybe that’s why there are over 8000 licensed Realtors® in the Austin MSA and that’s the reason so many are working part-time. Almost everyone knows at least one Realtor® or is related to one. Differentiating ourselves in this marketplace is not easy. Having people understand what we do is even more challenging.
The reaction to the business model has been extreme, from “You won’t work as hard for me since you are giving 25% of your commission away,” to “I’d use you no matter what, because you’re doing something good for the community,” and everything in between.
The truth is, we are great Realtors® and we take pride in our commitment to our clients and in listening to their needs; helping them in the buying or selling process is our full time job. Donating a portion of our commissions is very rewarding and has impacted our lives significantly. It’s an awesome feeling to know that we are making a positive difference in our community. We have created a business model where literally everyone benefits, and it’s great to wake up every morning knowing that if we stopped doing what we are doing, it WOULD make a difference. We are making personal choices in the process. We choose to live conservatively and Give greatly, and our checking accounts are impacted by it. It’s not easy, but we feel the rewards are greater than the cost. That's our choice.
To date, our $77,000+ in donations is just the tip of the iceberg. Yet it’s pretty amazing when you realize it has been done in 25 months. The impact we can have on the nonprofit community is phenomenal, but we need more clients to reach our goal.

Of course, there is no way we could sell 100% of the real estate in the Austin Area, nor do we want to. We realize we aren’t the right fit for all home sellers or buyers, not everyone wants to Give back, and not everyone is philanthropic. But how would our world change if we could, or if every Realtor® did the same thing?
We are finding that not only are we profoundly impacted, but our clients are also affected. Many of our clients have never given a monetary donation before, or at least not in such a large amount. They are engaging with a cause they are passionate about, and many times get further involved with volunteering and continue to Give long after the Give Realty donation takes place. Pretty amazing stuff! Every day we are reminded of how fortunate we are to have worked with and helped these clients. A big “Thank You” to all of our believers! By continuing to educate the community about our unique services, our giving can grow.
If you don’t already know someone in the business, engaging Give Realty for your home needs is kind of a “no-brainer”, since everyone wins. We take 25% of our earnings/commission, and Give it to the charity you choose in your name – you don’t incur any additional costs when you work with us.
